Medical Receptionist/Administrator
Tēnei tūranga – About the role
We are looking for a maternity cover receptionist to join our team from 9th December 2024 – 20th June 2025. This is a fulltime, fixed term role Monday to Friday from 8.30am – 5.00 pm.
The reception team is a pivotal component of the general practice team as they are the first point of contact with patients and visitors on the front-line reception and telephony services. We believe that general practice has a pivotal role in the health system, providing continuity and holistic health care for its patients. We strive to provide a high standard of health service to all our patients.
Mōu | About you
You will be required to perform the following tasks and duties (full job description is available on request):
- Greeting & arriving patients and visitors
- Booking & confirming patient appointments
- Invoicing & collecting fees
- New patient enrolments
- Scanning & allocating email messages & medical documents
- Providing administrative support to clinical staff and managers
Skills and Experience
- Proven customer service experience in a busy, fast-paced reception environment
- A passion for delivering excellent administrative services to assist the team and our patients
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Friendly and positive nature.
- Competence in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- A high level of accuracy, confidentiality and a strong work ethic
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage relationships at all levels
- An interest in contributing to a positive team culture and being part of ‘the team’
- An understanding of Cultural Safety, Cultural Competence & Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Experience in working within a Patient Management System is desirable (however full training and on-going support is provided)
- Candidates must have NZ residency or valid Work Visa
- The ideal candidate must be able to work between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday- Friday including school holidays.
